Katy's February Letter to the Kitsap Cowpokes

This last year was fantastic. I have met so many wonderful people and went to so many new places. I spent the 4th of July in Vancouver; my birthday in The Dalles, Oregon; and saw the famous suicide race in Omak for the first time. But the best thing of all was being able represent the Kitsap County Fair and Stampede. I will always cherish this experience for the rest of my life. I am proud to be apart of this community and will take with me all the lessons I have learned. Of course none of this would have been possible without the love and support of my family. Thank you for putting up with me this past year.

I would also like to thank all of my sponsors without them I would have never been able to go to half as many places. Thank you to the Fairboard for supporting me at every event I attended and putting on an amazing fair. Thank you to those amazing hardworking Wranglers who wouldn’t let a couple of feet of mud keep them from their jobs behind the chutes. Last but defiantly not least Thank You to the Cowpokes for not only putting together a great rodeo but also making it possible for Miss Rodeo America and Miss Rodeo Washington come to our Kitsap County Fair and Stampede. I honestly can’t thank you enough for making that happen. I had such an outstanding time getting to know the girls. They are wonderful women to model your self after. I have learned things from each of them that I can now take with me and grow from. I aspire to be a roll model like they were once to me.

Again thank you to everyone for your support through the last year and continuing to support me this year. I appreciate everything everyone has done for me. I will continue to be involved in the Kitsap county Fair and Stampede. I also will continue my support of the queen program for I believe it really does enrich young ladies lives.

Thank you,
Katy Schwab
