Xxxxxxxtreme Bulls and the Winner is....

10:27 PM / Posted by Nina's Images / comments (0)

Once again, Kitsap Stampede enjoyed the Xtreme Bulls event in our Thunderbird arena. The winner this year is Jarod Hooten - broken jaw and all! What a trooper! Jarod took a week off, and came out to ride this event. OUCH! Tougher than I am, that's for sure!

HERE HE IS!!!
JORDAN HOOTEN!

Remember, next year - Xtreme Bulls - be there or be square! Who knows, maybe you'll see yourself on ESPN. Yep, ESPN comes to film the event!

Well kiddie troopers, at the Xtreme Bulls on Sunday, we didn't have rodeo queens in the arena. Darn... SO, I bring you the next best thing! Lots of bull riding action!

The best funny man I've seen in a while!

Mmmmm... cowboy for supper....

Hat's off to pickup men!
I enjoy watching the pickup men work. Sunday was a little quieter for them than the earlier days of this past week's rodeo. Their skills are amazing. I always felt they were under appreciated as athletes. This is NOT an easy job - or one for the faint of heart. You gotta be all cowboy to be a pickup man.

Our fabulous announcer - Mr. Randy Corley

Beef in flight...

Don't look behind ya, cowboy!!! JUST RUN!!!!

These beasts are not anything to mess around with...

Sometimes.. just sometimes, it looks not so scary, and kinda fun...

I'm thinkin' burgers for supper, how 'bout you?

Oh this isn't going to turn out well...

This bull looks like he's having TOO much fun!

Well, this is one of two posts for the Saturday night Kitsap Stampede. If you weren't here - I hope you were doing something worthy of missing such a WONDERFUL show! Check out this, and the next post (below) for some awesome peeks at what YOU missed if ya stayed home!

WOW! Rodeo Royalty all over the place!
How nice to have the Northwest Junior Rodeo Association, the Thunderbird Sweetheart, the Grays Harbor County Royalty, Mason County Royalty AND Miss Omak posing with our lovely Katie Kitsap, her beautiful sisters, Mom, Dad, and lovely grandma!

A handsome rodeo visitor with his pretty mama!

So young, and he's trying his charms on Miss Omak! :O)
(he's got good taste in women - she's PURDY!)

Always love to see respect....

The beautiful Elizabeth, of "Buck & Elizabeth"
Elizabeth always sings the anthem at least once during the rodeo. She has the voice of an angel!

The lovely Dawn Oien, who has graciously shared her horses with visiting royalty!
Thank you, Dawn, you are the best!

I never tire of seeing that flag unfurled... and it's mighty lovely to see it whippin' in the wind.

We will never forget.

Starlets in Action!

Ok - here's some cutie pie "Mom & Me" photos! Angie and daughter are just LOVELY!

Remember, for them, it's just another day at their office. Except the cowboy's office is sometimes a long long way from home.
You call home every chance you get!

Lordy Lordy... they let some clown into the rodeo! But seriously, his show is terribly funny!

And here's the long arm of the law getting a drink from the leaky hose...

WARNING - NEVER CHECK YOUR GAS TANK WITH A BIC LIGHTER!!
USE A FLASHLIGHT!"
Remember - Safety First!

Look at that horse coming out of the chute!!!! In a hurry to get to work, or what!?!?!?

Sun is setting, and that beer garden at the west end of the arena looks nice and cozy!

Am I the only one reminded of Tina Turner (in the old Ike & Tina days) when I look at this horse?

She's after a cowboy! Well, a picture, anyway... :O)

There's that Tina Turner horse again... even has nice legs like Tina...

Miss Omak and Miss Kitsap Fair & Stampede sharin' some horse tales..

I wonder if Miss Kitsap Junior Rodeo knows her horse is stickin' it's tongue out at the audience?

G0 Kitsap Junior Rodeo!

Say CHEESE!

Thanks for the ride, fellas!

I think this is what they call a "Quick! Pick me UP!" -which, btw - is VERY different from a
"quick-pick-me-up"

Pickin' up that cowboy one leg at a time!

Posed like a carousel horse, but so not a carousel horse! These broncs are jumpin', kickin', swingin', buckin', cowboy tossin' machines!

Yeah, sure... you make it look easy...

This is just cool. Stopping time, just for a moment to inspect detail. Horse tail, chap fringe, facial expression - almost looks like that cowboy is singin'...

Ok - somethin's starting to hurt here... Look at that gritty expression!

"Is this the Chiropractor's office? Yeah, well, I need to make an appt..."

Horse ballet!

The OH so talented pickup men are so often overlooked... They are amazing athletes themselves!

Loook oooout! Here come the Starlets!

Wooohooo! Wow! WHAT A SHOW - this place was rockin, it was SHAKIN' and BAKIN'!!!!

We had the AMAZING Miss Omak Washington, Amanda Emerson, with us tonight, and she brought her family with her (nice!). Amanda will be with us again Sunday!

Happy Friday!!!!!!

Yet another night of rodeo fun, and it's almost over! Saturday night is the end of the week's rodeo, and Sunday afternoon brings us the grand finale with an Xtreme Bulls event, packed with the world's top pro bullriders! I can't wait for Sunday - but I don't want the rodeo to stop either. :O( It has gone by TOO fast!!!! Argh!

Well kids, tonight's rodeo was no less than last night's. Another fine performance. Perfection as usual, what we have grown to expect here in Kitsap County...

This week I've been hanging on the rails and shooting, and watching some BEAUTIFUL animals in this rodeo!!!! I mean there is some AMAZING stock in this event. The horses in this year's rodeo are just too much! Sassy, smart as ever, and gorgeous! Hmmm.... Sorta like Rodeo Queens, 'cept the queens are sweet and purdy, and they like cowboys (unlike the horses!) There's a certain stock contractor that is just makin' magic with these animals!

Tonight, my boots are shufflin' a wee bit slower... I just smacked some keepers into a video, and popped it up here for funsies... I can sleep in tomorrow, and have a dandy breakfast and be back to posting tons of beautiful queens, handsome cowboys and pretty cowgirls!

nite ya'll!
